FAQ

What's included?

All tours include a bicycle, helmet, a souvenir water bottle, and tour guide. Tours with 6 or more riders will also have a "sweep" who rides in the back of the group.

Where are you located?

All tours start and end at Fairmount Bicycles, 2015 Fairmount Ave. We are accessible via the 33 bus, 48 bus, and a short walk from the Fairmount stop on the Broad Street Line.

Are kids allowed?

The minimum age to book a tour is 18, but kids 12+ are welcome as long as they're with a parent or guardian. The exception to this is our beer tour, which is exclusively for adults 21+. Kids under 12 may be allowed on private tours with advance arrangements.

Why?

We ride on city streets, sometimes in traffic lanes, and we need all riders to be aware of their surroundings. We feel that all adults who can ride a bike and follow directions will be comfortable and safe on our tours, but we find its unrealistic to ask the same of kids under 12.

What is the cancellation policy?

Any Philadelphia weather related cancellations are fully refundable.

For public tours: cancel with 7+ days notice for a full refund. Cancel within 3-7 days for a 50% refund. No refund within 3 days of tour. Trip protection is available during the checkout process to allow for a more flexible cancellation policy.

For private tours: cancel with 2+ weeks notice for full refund. Cancel within 3-14 days for a 50% refund. No refund within 3 days of tour.

What if it rains?

In the event of steady rain or thunderstorms at the time of your tour, you will be allowed to cancel for a full refund. In the case of passing showers, we have ponchos!

Where do I park?

Can I bring my own bike?

If you're driving, there's a parking lot at 23rd and Fairmount. Most street parking is limited to 2 hours and the parking authority is pretty good about ticketing. You may find parking on Corinthian St north of Brown St.

Yes! There is no discount for bringing your own bike, and you will be responsible for maintenance and flat fixes on your bike. We recommend carrying a spare tube, otherwise a flat could end the tour for you! We carry spare tubes for our bikes.

Do you stop for lunch on your tours?

Not usually. We try to fit a lot into 3 hours, and a lunch stop can take a long time with a group. We love including food stops on private tours, though!
